Many tortoises are brumating (hibernating) already, while others come out to bask on sunny days.
No need to feed tortoises now, although they may browse a bit.
Mother Nature provides for hatchlings to brumate (hibernate) from the very first winter.
To sleep safely, hatchlings need to be cold, outside, and in their burrows.
Build that baby pen (see our Tortoise Booklet for directions)
and be alert for burrow flooding when it rains.
